Scott Serkland was once a mild-mannered illustrator and designer until the effects of an unfortunate incident involving a microwave oven and a can of processed squeeze cheese changed his life forever. 

Now he burns the midnight oil in his underground lair, sifting through stacks of comic books, catalogs, and ephemera on his never-ending quest to dissect, deconstruct and demystify the wonderous world of nostalgia. 

Serkland uses this mountain of memorabilia as fuel to radically recreate the remarkable pop culture memories of the past.

Heavily influenced as a child by robots, aliens, zombies, and other imminent threats to humanity Serkland infuses these elements in his work, from his kids vs. zombies adventure comic book series Young and the Dead to a line of mad science supplies including retro-inspired prints, collectibles and oddities all of which are available in his online store. 

Not content with just wanting to generate his own mad creations. Serkland envisions a world filled with mad makers all sharing their unique visions and putting extraordinary stuff into the world! To encourage this he has created a number of helpful resources makers can use to their advantage including his free Making Comics 101 course on YouTube, a variety of digital toolkits available for download, and even a line of comic workbooks available on Amazon.
